Christmas Eve 2023: Gathering and singing on the market square

Three more days until Christmas Eve - today we are publishing the official song list for our Christmas Eve singing together. They are familiar songs that are well known and evoke a calm, contemplative and trusting feeling of Christmas, far from any hustle and bustle. Now it's Christmas! Being together, reassuring other people in a peaceful, loving atmosphere. Feel what the message of Christmas has always been, should be in our gathering today and what we need more of: love and peace.

When organizing Christmas Eve singing under the title “Being Together and Singing”, the spirit is always about people meeting each other as a city community. People who don't otherwise see each other. And it's about inviting people who might be spending Christmas alone. All of us together are Warburg, across religions and groups. It is important in these difficult times to experience the message of peace in community. Veronika Udaltsova from Ukraine has been a friend of the ECI since the last Christmas Eve singing and says “We are preparing for our second Christmas in Warburg, while our homeland is still in the middle of Putin's war, it is unbelievable and we are allowed to fight the war and the Don't forget Ukrainian fates during the war. I am happy and grateful to live in peace with my family in Warburg during this terrible time and to sing together with the Warburgers on the market square and celebrate Christmas." The Ukrainians will therefore sing a song in our midst on the market square on Christmas Eve sing in their language.
PS After singing together we will definitely stand together in the market square for a while.
